I rebooted my system few times and had:
  1) acpibatt command works correctly, but power command is funny. (as above)
  2) power command works correctly, but acpibatt output never changes.
  3) power and acpibatt commands are work correctly.

Very weird.... :-(

May be something to do with what I was doing, so I'll look into it
more closely.
