Ok, gotcha.  The ACPI_TYPE_ANY bit fooled me there.

I assume this is so that you don't have to guarantee that the ACPI_HANDLE 
you return remains constant forever?

At any rate, if I can trust that 0 means a Reference for now, then I can 
progress and catch up with the API changes later.

BTW, thanks to whoever updated the ACPI CA Programmer's Reference, having
this in synch is a great help.  One issue with it though is that it
doesn't seem to be readable with anything other than the Windows version
of Acrobat Reader, making it fairly hard to refer to online. 8(  (You can
open the document, but a number of pages can't be rendered, eg. the first
page of chapter 1.)
