It still appears thay my system timers go awry when I come out of
suspend. The symptoms are that things like 'top' stop updating although
control-L forces an update. Audibly any console bells sound forever,
i.e. the routine that times it can't determine when to switch it off.

I've got a Dell i5000e. What can I do to help fix this?

Joe
