Hi all,

you might remember some time ago I volunteered to create and maintain a db and
a port of patches to dsdt/asl files. Now I'm taking advantage of Christmas
vacations to get some work done.

From my limited knowledge, the DSDT DefinitionBlock:

DefinitionBlock (
    "acpi_dsdt.aml", //Output filename
    "DSDT", //Signature
    0x1, //DSDT Revision
    "IBM", //OEMID
    "VIPER", //TABLE ID
    0x6040000 //OEM Revision
)

allows me to identify a particular model and revision, right? I think this info
should be available via sysctl, so that I can get to it from shell scripts -
unless anybody has a better idea.

I think this will take a couple of minutes to anybody who knows the driver
better than me; otherwise I will look into it later. Meanwhile I'll just
process acpidump output.

On a separate note - if anybody has interesting patches you can start sending
them to me. I need the asl file + separate patches.

Bye,
	Andrea
