Subject: [acpi-jp 2080] Suspend state S3 on a Samsung P10 / display problem

Hi,

I've tried using ACPI on a Samsung P10 under FreeBSD 5.0 (release) but am having a problem
with the suspend-to-ram function. The notebook enters the suspend state perfectly, however
on wakeup the display remains completely dark. Logging into the box over ssh works fine.
The graphics adapter in this notebook is a Radeon Mobility (M6) which also seems to have
problems with DPMS under XFree86 (DPMS in 4.2.1 for LCD panels not possible, in CVS it's
patched, however it only blanks my screen and does not turn the backlight off).

I've tried using the vga_pci module hack with no luck and am currently stuck as what to do
next. Some initialization seems to be needed to get the graphics adapter back onto track.

Can anybody help? Is anyone else with a Radeon mobility in his notebook encountering this
problem?

Cheers,
Ralf
